Accounting Configuration Handbook |
Generally, for any Internet software or configuration changes that you make or need done, whether to a functioning system or on a new installation, our regular installation policies apply: you can install the software yourself, bring your system here, or we will go to your site. MaineStreet will bill you at our current rate, for all installation assistance.
Trumpet Winsocks Still Works BUT the current MaineStreet Trumpet disks do NOT install correctly under Win95; you need to install each application individually. DON'T ERASE A WORKING SETUP UNTIL YOU HAVE SOMETHING ELSE THAT WORKS!!!
From tcolkitt@maine.com
We at SDS upgraded to Win 95
almost 2 months ago with no
connection problems using
Trumpet Winsock. We didn't
change a thing.
Thought you might like to know.

Win95's SLIP works fine
(Eudora,FreeAgent,FTP work fine with Winsock 2.1), the Dial-in
network is 32-bit...that's why it
works. Now the hard part...
GETTING DIAL IN NETWORK to use
SLIP!!! Win95 is set-up to use
PPP, not SLIP. The SLIP drivers
are on the WIN95 CDROM, and takes
some time to find them. Then
there is A LOT more setting up to
do, but the HELP file on
Connection to Internet just about
walk you through step by step.
MaineStreet's Customized version of the
`Stand Alone PC Using SLIP and a Modem'. You can use the excellent
onine version above if you have a second machine with browser capabilities,
or you can download our version and print it out for a guide. Our version
is customized for our system with local IP numbers and addresses.
It includes a single script for our regular users.
