Required Hardware for Windows 3.1

MaineStreet no longer maintains software online for Windows 3.1.

If you are using Windows 3.1 you should bring your system here or arrange for one of our techs to visit you for an install.

CHECK YOUR SYSTEM

Make sure your current system meets the following requirements:

  • a 9600 modem or better
  • 16550A UARTs
  • hardware and software able to support hardware handshaking
  • at least 4Mb RAM and 8Mb hard drive space

CUSTOMIZE LOGIN.CMD

LOGIN.CMD gives Trumpet your MaineStreet access number, userid and password so Trumpet can dial up and log you in. You'll need to customize login.cmd with your phone number, userid and password. Instructions are included in the LOGIN.CMD file itelf.

To do this, open the Internet group. Click on the Notepad icon inside. Edit LOGIN.CMD so your access number, userid, and password are in the correct places. Make sure you put your userid and password in both places indicated in the script. Be careful to leave the "\13" at the end of the lines you modify. The userid and password are case sensitive.

When you're finished customizing LOGIN.CMD, save and close the file.
